App and developer

This page is for Seashell Identifier AI, published by Apps Factory. Apps Factory is a brand of ServiceChanger B.V., Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands (KVK 97221309), the developer and seller of the app.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open Seashell Identifier and go to Settings
  2. Under Account, tap Delete account
  3. Confirm with Delete

Delete account is there when you are signed in with Apple or Google. It is also there for a guest session. A scan without signing in still creates an account on our side, and Delete account removes that too.

Deleting in the app also removes the saved finds and their photos on that phone. If those photos cannot be removed straight away, the app tries again the next time you open it. The coast you picked stays on that phone.

Delete without the app

No longer have the app? Email support@appsfactory.nl with the subject "Delete my Seashell Identifier account". If you signed in, send it from the email address of your account, or tell us which address that is. If you only used the app as a guest, say so. We reply within 30 days.

Signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email? Then include the relay address Apple made for Seashell Identifier. You find it in your Apple account settings under Sign in with Apple.

An email does not erase the finds stored on a phone. To remove those, delete the account in the app.

What is deleted

Deleting the account runs on our server, in this order. The sign-in is removed only after the Apple step and the RevenueCat delete have succeeded.

  • If you signed in with Apple and we hold a refresh token, we ask Apple to revoke it before anything else is removed. If Apple says that token is already revoked, we continue. If the revoke fails for another reason, we stop and leave the account in place
  • The RevenueCat subscriber linked to your account, including the Premium status we stored
  • The rows stored for that account: your profile, any find rows, the free-identification count, the older quota row, rate-limit rows, the subscription status, daily identification counts (including the IP address used for the daily cap), the daily model-call counter, an open identification hold, and the Sign in with Apple refresh token
  • Your sign-in itself. That includes a guest session created when you scanned without Apple or Google

A shell photo is sent to OpenAI only to name the shell. We do not store that photo, and we do not keep it after the answer comes back.

What we keep, and for how long

The records above are removed with the account. We do not keep a second copy of them for a set number of days.

These things are not removed by this page, or by an email:

  • Finds and photos saved on a phone. They stay on that phone until you delete the account in the app
  • The coast you picked on that phone. An in-app delete leaves it in place
  • Purchase records held by Apple or Google, under their own privacy policies

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google. Deleting your account does not cancel one. The plan keeps renewing until you cancel it in the store account where you bought it:

  • App Store: cancel a subscription from Apple
  • Google Play: cancel a subscription on Google Play
